January 18th – January 24th
Red Wine Flight 20
2014 Ancien – Pinot Noir – Carneros, Ca
An intense spice filled nose gives way to delicious black raspberry and black cherry. The luxurious palate is loaded with dark berries and combines seamlessly with hints of dark chocolate and anise.
2012 Francois Lurton – “Mas Janeil” – Cotes du Roussillon, Fr
A concentrated nose of red fruit, fresh figs, regional herbs and black pepper segues to a silky, well-rounded mouth feel that has an underlying smokiness character. Blend of 55% Grenache, 25% Carignan, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre.
2015 Chakana – Malbec – Valle de Uco, Argentina
There is a solid density to this wine, with dried-berry and floral character. Medium to full body, round tannins and a savory finish. Tastes of Argentina.
Winter White Wine Flight 15
2016 Poe – Rosé – California
The wine is a blend of 66% Pinot Noir from the Balestra Vineyard in Salinas. The vineyard is just 18 miles from the ocean, northwest of Saint Lucia Highland. The Pinot Meunier, which accounts for 34% of the blend, is from the Van der Kamp Vineyard on Sonoma Mountain.
2015 Nespoli – Trebbiano – Romagna, Italy
Fresh and easy-drinking, with a straw-yellow color and a light greenish shade. The perfume is intense, with fresh flowers and tropical fruit aromas.
2015 Buehler – Chardonnay – Russian River Valley, Ca
Displays abundant floral/ stone fruit aromas lightly accented by toasty, graham cracker sur-lie qualities. The mouth feel is creamy and full but the natural acidity of the Russian River fruit carries this velvet textured package to a long, clean finish.
